  Health Sessions

Resulting from an observed need for health education amongst black women in London and the realisation of a lack of awareness by many Somali families of the health services available to them, health classes have become central to BWHAFS's activities. In 1986 Amina Abdi Ibrahim was hired as the first Health Classes Co-ordinator. A series of health classes commenced on 3rd March 1987. Since then health classes have been run by BWHAFS throughout London and further afield, and have been functioning both as a core activity of the organisation and as developments of specific projects.
